Just like the real animal, Anaconda will wrap itself around you and squeeze all the air out of you… but with laughter. If you haven’t seen it yet, go see it right away!
Jack Black and Paul Rudd form a fantastic duo. The film belongs to that category of movies that don’t take themselves too seriously and, precisely for this reason, manage to entertain from beginning to end.
Tom Gormican’s direction is clean and solid, enriched by some experimental shots and some beautiful homages that are a real joy to behold. He did an excellent job: no unnecessarily convoluted plot, no intellectual pretensions, and no existentialist rambling. You only perceive a group of friends with a great desire to have fun.

Doug (Jack Black’s character) is the figure in whom, unfortunately, many of us see ourselves: a man trapped in a world that feels too small for him who had to put aside his dreams to face the harsh reality of life.
Critics snubbed it, giving it an average rating of 5/10 — not even a passing grade. However, I say that critics take themselves too seriously and no longer know how to have fun.
