Ah PAX. What is PAX?

For those who don’t know, PAX is a huge convention focused on gaming: role-playing games, video games, board games…

We took part in it late March 2024 in Boston, and I have to tell you, it was great but…

We took part in 6 one-shots—from the first edition of D&D to a demo of OneD&D—and it was a wonderful experience even if exhausting.

My positive experience was helped by the community and the wonderful people who took part in the tables with me. Obviously, since it was an event in the United States, English and only English was spoken. Now, my level is good but not perfect ; I always have doubts and uncertainties that sometimes stop me from having many experiences, but not here.

I think that’s what I love about TTRPGs is that it doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, and (sometimes) how well you speak a language ; you can have fun all together without thinking about the outside world, just by rolling dice.

Of course, in addition to this there were many different demo-plays of video games, board games, TTRPGs, and shopping (too much shopping). And we can’t wait to tell you specifically about the many purchases we made.

You’re probably wondering why I called it “great, but…”.

Simple: since it’s a convention in the States, you can’t find a good espresso. But if you’re not addicted to caffeine like us, then it’s 10/10.
