Who doesn’t know Sabaton (@sabatonofficial)? Metal and history have been going hand in hand for years, and now another arm is added. “A Battle Through History” is the new TTRPG di casa Pegasus Spiele (@pegasusspiele) and Scribabs (@scribabs_boardgames), co-signed by Stabaton founder and bassist: Pär Sundström. Today, Pär spoke a bit with Paola Vallerga (CEO of Scribabs), and together they presented the game to us. In full Sabaton style, it is a “Time Travel War-game”. Each player takes on the role of a Sabaton who, through his travels in time, can relive legendary battles and recruit the best warriors.
Magic: The Gathering was one of the influences that inspired Pär to the game mechanics. The so-called deck building (construction of a deck) is the basic mechanic of this game. The deck building mechanics, the player vs. player challenges, and the Sabaton flavor convinced us. We can’t wait for the next game night where we’ll be locked in to play “A Battle Through History”.
