Caffè Nerdiano landed—or rather, drove for hours—to Toronto, Canada to attend Fan Expo Canada: a simply immense event. We took part in one of the most impressive events on the international nerd and pop scene.
To understand the scope of the event, consider that the entire convention spans over 700,000 square feet (more than 65,000 square meters), spread across two main venues. The first is dedicated to the stars of film and television, while the second—even larger—hosts hundreds of artists, publishers, and specialized vendors.
Among the most anticipated and applauded guests were film icons Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, timeless icons for generations of fans. In the comics world, the renowned Jim Lee stood out, joined by numerous internationally renowned authors. Italy proudly boasted the participation of artists like Simone Di Meo and Marco Checchetto, whose work is increasingly appreciated overseas.

A particularly fascinating aspect of the fair was the large space dedicated to collectible comics: dozens of tables were filled with binders containing comics from every era and genre, from the Golden Age to the most recent independent titles. A true paradise for collectors and enthusiasts of the medium.
Fan Expo Canada confirms its status as an essential event for those who want to experience the universe of pop culture up close, in all its facets. It’s an event that leaves its mark.
Fan Expo Canada is one of those fairs I absolutely want to return to. I want to feel that happy tiredness again after a whole day wandering through pavilions, booths, tables, and cosplay. Do I want to make the nine (and more) hour driveto get there again? Honestly, no… but I will. Because, yes, it’s totally worth it.
