Summer is approaching and like coffee, our opinions are have time to simmer. After the first taste of the demo that was released, we found ourselves saying “if this is the beginning, we can’t wait to see the rest” but rest of what? Of the game? No, of the next projects. Enotria, as many say, is an ambitious project, too ambitious. The graphics are among the best, a level design like we haven’t seen in a long time, but all of this is accompanied by a combat system that limps. After many hours of demo, it all left us with a bitter taste. Wouldn’t it have been nicer if instead of a souls-like they had done something else? Maybe a project that followed what Moon Studio did.

Enotria/Jyamma Games

“No rest for the wicked” hasn’t come out yet, but it already offers something new with a wonderful art design and a combat system that is different from the usual (and perhaps a little tired) souls-like. The idea of Italian masks is something new, fresh, intriguing, and exciting. It would make us known on the world stage for something that has remained closed in the traditions of our borders.

The flaws that we would like to see fixed are actually few. It is often necessary to block or parry several enemy combos, at the end of which you find yourself without stamina to be able to counterattack. The big problem with the combat system and the enemy combos is that if you fall, you are dead. The time to stand up is too long and in this, you can’t do anything except watch how the enemy sends you back to the ground forever. For the rest, it is a souls-like: if you don’t argue with the camera you only enjoy it halfway.
